Owning a spa is both a pleasure, but it can also be a chore especially if it isn’t being maintained or cleaned regularly. If you don’t have the time to clean your spa or if you’re worried about messing something up, consider contacting us. We’ve been cleaning and repairing all types of spas for years.
That being said, lets get straight to the meat and potatoes.
Step One:
Before you begin the spa cleaning & draining your spa, apply a jet cleaner to your spas water and let it run through and circulate through all of the jets. This cleans out whatever dirt and grime that’s been building inside of your spas pipes and equipment.
Step Two:
Begin Spa draining. Your spa should be drained completely in this step.
Step Three:
Start wiping the acrylic surface with a soft wet cloth or sponge using distilled vinegar or methylated spirits.
- Don’t use harsh chemicals on your spas surfaces, or any abrasive detergents.
- Don’t use house soap either, this can cause your spas water to bubble up and foam. Leave that for the bath tub!
Step Four:
Start refilling your spa. Remember to turn the temperature to cold or the lowest temperature while the spa is refilling. Turn back to the desired temp once you are certain all of the spa pumps and jets are functioning right.
Step Five:
Balancing the Alkalinity and pH might be a little tricky, but do it as quickly as possible! This might take a few days.
Step Six:
Once all of the above steps are completed. Start adding the right starting chemicals, this varies on the type and brand of your spa.
